Are you looking for a B&B with half board for a relaxing vacation in the beautiful nature of the Harz Mountains?

This beautiful vacation home from 1897 is located in Altenau in the Oberharz region. The Okerhaus with its large garden is situated at an altitude of 500 m and borders the river “Oker”. The house is ideally situated in the picturesque village of Altenau within walking distance of cafés and restaurants. Directly from the house there are many opportunities for hiking, cycling and mountain biking. A forest swimming pool, tennis courts, sauna “Kristall Therme” and a large herb garden are also nearby.

Our guest rooms

On the first floor and second floor there are a total of 6 double rooms with bathrooms and a shared dining/living room for guests. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and single beds.
The B&B is open from February 18th to November 1st from Monday to Friday.

Our vegetarian cuisine

Breakfast and the 3 course menu are vegetarian and of course we can cater for diets and cook vegan on request.

We serve the 3-course menu from Monday to Friday (min. 2 persons).
On the days when we do not cook, there are many opportunities to enjoy a good meal (vegetarian or vegan) in the restaurants in the area.

If you wish, you can prepare a packed lunch during breakfast.

Group vacation home

The whole house can also be rented as a group house for 8 to 16 people.

The Okerhaus is very suitable for a family reunion, a racing bike or mountain bike club, a hiking group or just a get-together with friends.

The house has Netflix and free Wi-Fi.
We are open all year round for groups of 8 people or more.

The Harz Hiking Needle offers pure nature life with the help of a hiking pass and 222 stamp points on the approximately 8000 kilometers of signposted hiking trails in the Harz Mountains. Harz Hiking Needle in bronze, silver or gold, Hiking King or Harz Hiking Emperor? The decisive factor is the number of stamps that hiking enthusiasts can prove in their stamp booklet. Anyone who has hiked all 222 stamp points in the Harz Mountains can rightly claim the title of ‘Harz Hiking Emperor’.

For hiking enthusiasts, we also offer a 4-day hiking package with half board and packed lunch.
