Saorsa 1875 is the UK’s first 100% vegan hotel, based in the Scottish Highlands. Housed in a 19th-century building with bright red gables, the boutique hotel’s bohemian and eclectic furnishing offer the perfect antidote to the frantic pace of modern living. Downstairs, the lounge and restaurant are cosy all-day spots for relaxing by the fire with a craft beer, funky cocktail, or dram of whisky. Our 11 bedrooms are all uniquely designed with plush vegan bedding and eco-friendly toiletries, and range from Deluxe to Single-sized.

We serve entirely plant-based food including breakfast (residents-only), lunch, and dinner, offering nightly changing tasting menus that showcase local, seasonal, and foraged produce.

Explore the wonder of the Highlands

The hotel is perfectly poised to explore the wonder of the Highlands. We are within close proximity of Ben Vrackie, a popular mountain ascent for climbers and walkers, as well as Black Spout Woods, Faskally Forest, and Queen’s View. Local lochs are a brilliant spot for those keen on water sports – paddleboard, kayak, and canoe hire are available nearby.
The hotel is approximately 1.5 hours from Edinburgh via car and is served by Pitlochry train station – just a 10-minute walk from the hotel – which has a direct line to London Kings Cross.

The hotel has its very own yoga yurt in the garden (retreats and classes are held separately), as well as a hot tub for hire. Cocktail masterclasses and massages can be booked upon request.
