Art studio hide out
Tucked away in the Umbrian countryside on the border of Tuscany, surrounded by olive groves and agricultural land, this hidden gem is the product of American artist Glenn Allen Ball, who designed, built and decorated (including original paintings and sculptures) every corner of the house.
The use of light, so important in his paintings, is reflected and dances in every corner of the room thanks to the copper used around the windows and corners and in the construction of the lampshades.
A cruelty-free accommodation
The kitchen, which has never seen animal products of any kind, has induction plates, the room has top of the line, AC, ventilator, heating system, washing machine, 2 bicycles and exercise machines.
The intimate courtyard has a hot tub, lounge area and in the summer fresh tomatoes grow in the herb garden next to basil and chives.
Surroundings
The surrounding area has 2 lakes: Lake Trasimeno (5km) and Lake Montepulciano (3km), both have protected areas for bird watching.
Lake Trasimeno has facilities for canoeing, windsurfing and kayaking, as well as cycle paths around most of it’s circumference and ferries to the islands.
On its shores you can visit beautiful medieval villages and some great vegan restaurants.
Within reach are the cities of Perugia, Assisi, Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Pienza and Siena.
The train station of Castiglione del Lago is 5 km away. By train you can reach Rome, Florence or Siena in less than 2 hours.
The area is also famous for its wines.
